If you’ve been reading my ezine, Be Heard!, for any length of time, you may notice I’ve alluded that I am doing a little shift in my business. I say ‘little’ because it’s part of what I’ve been doing for clients and customers for years, but never really saw a way to value it.
I’m a creative marketer who happens to specialize in public relations and publicity, yet I’ve been marketing myself the other way around.
As pal Nancy Marmolejo points out to me all the time (so much so I should pay her for not hitting me on the head since I wasn’t sharing my brilliance): my specialty is coming up with ideas that no one else can see and creating a marketing strategy around that. With my background and ideas, I helped Nancy get tens of thousands of dollars in sponsorships for her I Heart My Biz event.

Then there’s the customer who ditched her pay-per-click campaign that was costing her $300+ a month when one fill-in-the-blank press release in Penny Pinching Publicity (which she paid only $67 a month for) got her media coverage in a national daily newspaper in San Francisco that was worth more than $1400 in the advertising equivalent. Plus she got tons of traffic and opt-ins to her website.
I could go on and on about successes like these, but the fact of the matter is it’s time for me to shift and play bigger – for your benefit and for mine.
So in the next few months, you’ll be seeing some changes in branding overall… but I will still be The Power Publicist – after all, creative marketing IS publicity.
But there’s another change you need to know about, I’m raising my prices. There’s no sense playing bigger if I don’t value myself.
In the course of the next few months, you’ll be seeing price increases on any program that involves my direct personal one-on-one contact.
And I’m starting with my Publicity Breakthrough sessions. Currently a 30-minute session is $127 and a 60 minute session is $177. On August 1st, these will be increasing to $187 and $247, respectively. But until then you can book and use your Publicity Breakthrough at the current rate until September 15. (Hey it is summer, I know you are busy!)
