You’re a small business owner, coach or consultant. You have heard about sponsors but only have seen it used for nonprofits, NASCAR and PBS. Would a company want to sponsor you – a solo professional?
You bet! It’s all in relation to your connections and your community.
The reason? You have a ‘tribe’, that is a a group of people, whether big or small, that you have a positive influence over. This tribe may include:
- individuals on your list
- followers and friends in social media
- customers and clients
- visitors to your blog
This tribe listens to you. You have what’s called ‘influence’ and that’s WHAT a corporation wants to borrow when it sponsors you since they know that you and your brand is considered a friend to your target audience.
What do I mean by ‘friend?’ It’s when your tribe really feels trust, dependability, understanding, and caring from you and your business.
Once your brand is a friend to your audience, it’s easier to find a match in a sponsor. You just need to show possible sponsors how you can engage and reach your audience on their behalf.
And once you do, you can get paid for doing what you already do or for what you want to do (you can get sponsored for practically anything you could imagine) by companies looking for people, promotions and events to underwrite.
And best of all, if done correctly you can create sponsorship deals that are often worth thousands of dollars. It’s the untapped marketing technique that allows you to get sponsors to pay for your events, gear, clothing, travel and even upfront cash payments.
Join me for the Sponsorship Made Simple Academy, where I personally hold your hand to help you get your first sponsorship. (Most of my students who have done the work get a sponsor by the end of the class, which usually pays for the entire program and then some!) Class begins in a couple of weeks. register at http://www.sponsorshipmadesimple.com
