Ok, I admit it. I am a GLEEK, a fan of the Fox show Glee. In case you have missed it, it’s about the life of students and teachers who’s only connection (at the beginning) is the high school glee club. (And I will admit right now before anyone who went to high school with me reveals it, I was bit like Rachel back then… ok, more than a bit!)
But one of the big lessons that keeps occurring on the show is how the characters continually step out of their comfort zones in order to learn and grow.
We all have self-imposed boundaries and we use them as an excuse not to do the things that we know we need to do.
But a business will not grow on its own. We must be willing to step out of our comfort zones to market ourselves and our services/products. So what’s holding you back in your business?
It could be a fear of speaking in public. Or emailing you list more than once with an offer. Whatever it is, write it down. Now take a few moments to think about why this is so hard for you.
You know, sometimes facing your real fear head on is all that it may take to see how to get out of your comfort zone. If not, then break it down in smaller do-able steps. Think about how it feels every time you accomplish one of those steps.
And, don’t stop believing. Hold on to that feeling as you step into something great.
(And here’s some inspiration!)
