Last week, I was talking to my close friend and business confidante Sandra Martini about my productivity. She’s been a great ally, pushing me and encouraging me – even sending me a cute card to motivate me.
She was celebrating some new wins in her business, including some new clients and some other clients who have upgraded. Since things were slower for me (due to my lack of productivity), I was jealous. How did she do it?
Well, for Sandy it was a combination of things, but one thing she pointed to was she reorganized her workspace a bit to prepare for the colder weather in the Northeast, where we both live. (Prepare? It’s here already! Yikes!)
She encouraged me to try it.
So I gave my office a good ‘tidy’ as my British husband would say. I reorganized my files. I moved my desk. I got rid of old books and resources I no longer need. I started looking for some new seating.
Now I am more energized and certainly a bit more focused than before. So much so I have decided to give myself a gift at year’s end of a new desk and redesigned office. (Frankly, I’ve had my office look like this for at least 5 years… so the change could be fun AND motivating.)
Take an hour or so and rearrange things in your office space. Then let me know the results of your productivity in the comment section.
