Here’s the final part to this series on getting and keeping your motivation in the new year. (You can read the series from the beginning here.)
Remember… it’s about the journey.
Funny thing about success, it can change. (Yes, I know I said that before, but it bears repeating.)
If you completely focus on the end point, you’ll miss the mini successes and celebrations along the way. Or let me have someone else explain it to you:
You cannot predict the future. For example, I had a great many plans for the last quarter of this year, but my house got flooded and that disaster pulled me away from my business more than I would have liked. That flood reminded me to slow down and enjoy the process more, which I have been doing both in life and in business.
So celebrate every success you have earned. Can’t find one? Here’s a few you can use when you need to get a little inspired and motivated:
- You’ve taken a risk. You are a business owner. So many people are afraid to take that step, but not you brave soul!
- Look back at years past, especially when you got started. How much have you grown? (I think you’ll be amazed!)
- Why did you decided to start your own coaching or consulting practice? Sometimes remembering who you are and what you’re about is motivation enough to continue down your path.
