As part of the ongoing Monday’s Mojo series about getting ready for the new year, I’m sharing some motivation tips to get and stay on track. (Read the series from the beginning here.)
Look, we can easily get distracted or lost along the way. The key to motivation is to have a GPS system to guide us where we need to be headed.
That’s why I recommed creating a plan. I know some people cringe at this , as you think it takes ‘all the fun out of’ the creative process. I’m here to tell you it doesn’t.
I am strict about my planning, but it doesn’t stop me from coming up with great ideas all the time. As a result, my ideas become more focused on what will work in my business. And better focus often means better results.
Pull out that beginning of a roadmap we talked about in part 2 of this series. Start fleshing it out so you know exctly where you are going. And write down any additional ideas that come up as you do this. (trust me, they will come up… just write them down, but don’t get distracted from the goal of this exercise!) Add key due dates to make sure you are going to stay on track.
Remember, this plan isn’t written in stone. Just like a good GPS system, you may need to do some rerouting due to road blocks. It’s okay, as long as you get to your destination.
