Here are a few more ideas… just some easy tweaks to start adding and watch how much more comments and profits you’ll get:
1) Have You Written a Killer Blog Entry? Email Your List. You may already have a feature on your blog that allows people to sign up for email updates. In those cases, your subscribers will get notifications of all your entries. But you probably have another mailing list – a newsletter, ezine or whatever. When you make a pertinent post, email them about it. It brings more new readers and can generate a decent amount of discussion.
But don’t simply tell them, “I’ve updated my blog. Go look.” That’s B-O-R-I-N- G! Create some interest to get them to click. For example, I sent out an email to my list about the first part of this series with the subject line: “Is your blog making you money?” and made a sale as a result. (You can see complete email I sent to my list here.)
2) Link Freely. Don’t make every 2nd word a link, but at the same time, don’t be afraid to leak some traffic. This is a blog. It’s community-oriented and it’s expected/appreciated to share good resources. When you link to other content and web pages that you ‘own’ it increases search engine rankings.
Plus, when you link to others, they often tend to return the favor without you even having to ask.
3) Blog more. Each week, plan your posting schedule for the following week. Decide on the topics you’ll cover and create a rough outline for yourself. It’s amazing what this can do to keep you on track with keeping up with your postings. Why not starting writing your schedule right now?
