Yesterday, I talked about the three essentials you need to know about marketing.
If you remember nothing else, remember this: If you don’t implement your marketing strategies, nothing is going to happen.
That last sentence seems obvious, but again, it’s amazing how many people aren’t willing to do the work. They talk about it, but when it actually comes down to doing something, they somehow never seem to get around to getting their marketing done.
I know what you are thinking… Ugh! Marketing! I’m not a marketer, I’m a … (fill in the blank here). You’re right, you are.
But you know what? If you’re in business for yourself, you are ALSO a marketer. Because without marketing, no one will know about you, your website, your products or services or anything else you’ve put your heart and soul into.
You may be worried because marketing can break the bank, especially when you invest in traditional advertising or pay-per-click.
Don’t get discouraged because there are plenty of ways to get more people to buy, just by using some marketing tactics that won’t cost you anything but your time. (I’ll talk about these in another post.)
One way to overcome the overwhelm you may face when it comes to marketing is to plan on doing one task or a little every day. Make a commitment to do X number of tasks a week, regardless of how much time that takes.
Marketing is a commitment. There’s no getting around it. If you have a business, then you have no choice but to make a commitment to market yourself on a consistent basis until the day comes when you decide you don’t want a business anymore.
